My name is Thomas “Tom” McAllister, but you can just call me Tom. I’m a seasoned professional in the tobacco industry, having worn many hats over the last 30 years. I’ve seen the ins and outs, the ups and downs, and have been a part of shaping this industry to what it is today.
After graduating with a degree in Agriculture and a minor in Business from the University of Kentucky, I began my journey with American Tobacco Company. I spent 15 years there, learning about the intricacies of tobacco production, the craft of blending, and the art of manufacturing. I later moved to British American Tobacco (BAT) where I led a team of researchers in developing new, innovative tobacco products.
Over my career, I’ve received several awards for my contributions to the industry. Notably, I was recognized by the World Tobacco Association as “Tobacco Industry Innovator of the Year” in 2019, a proud moment for me.
I’m currently based in sunny Australia, enjoying the relaxed lifestyle and friendly people. Despite the distance, I continue to keep a keen eye on global tobacco trends and developments.
Aside from my professional life, I am an avid golfer and a self-proclaimed master of the barbecue. My favorite pastime is to spend weekends at the golf course, followed by a hearty BBQ with friends and family. You see, the same precision and patience I use in my work, I also apply in perfecting my golf swing and grilling the perfect steak.
